About the Bell Buckle Show

The Webb School Arts and Crafts Festival, known today as the Bell Buckle Show , began in 1976 . That year The Webb School’s headmaster asked art teacher and potter Anne White and Carol Price to plan some entertainment to coincide with the school’s annual board meeting and alumni weekend. That small gathering became the first Bell Buckle Webb School Art and Craft Festival.

Over the decades the festival grew from a small-town event into one of the region’s best-known craft shows. The Bell Buckle community joined in, opening yards and properties to vendors and parking, until the festival spread across many city blocks. Readers of The Tennessee Magazine have repeatedly voted it the top craft fair in Middle Tennessee.

It’s held every third weekend in October . Look for the town’s famous giant quilt painted on the square, an idea Anne White brought to life in the early 1980s and the inspiration for our logo.
